When Stella – my best friend and the founder of NIMA Concept Store in Cyprus — mentioned she was heading to the Paris Home Exhibition in January, my immediate thought was: YES. Food, fashion, people. Naturally, in true Despina irrational fashion, I decided to turn it into a 10-day trip – because why not? I wanted to squeeze in as many restaurants, exhibitions, and hidden corners as humanly possible.

It took less than 24 hours for Paris to completely consume me. The city's identity is so strong, so intoxicating, that you can’t help but be moved by it. The streets pulse with an energy that’s so electric, it makes people-watching alone a sensorial experience. The sheer volume of restaurants, galleries, and vintage shops is enough to make your head spin. And somehow, everything, and I mean everything feels effortlessly chic, romantic, and unmistakably French.

Now, while the elusive best croissant in Paris still remains a mystery (none of which I tried hit the spot), the restaurants I stumbled upon more than made up for it. As promised on Instagram stories, here’s FOOD in Paris by CASAPEZ.

VIVANT 2

Fine dining but make it fun, glam and playfully rebellious. After Chloe (chef & collaborator) said “YOU MUST GO”, I booked myself a dinner for one on the Vivant 2 Bar. There are 16 spots to be exact and a private room tucked in the back. As you step inside Vivant 2, a chorus of handsome creatures with flirtatious smiles proclaims, “Bonsoir, Bienvenue!” and upon exiting, the farewell is just as theatrical: “Merci, au revoir!” sung in perfect unison. The menu consists of hors d’Oeuvres, starters, mains and dessert. For a complete culinary journey, order at least one from every category and do not skip dessert. The wine list is impeccable and the recommended pairings will not disappoint.
